by Susan Crawford This figure hugging jumper is based on a classic 1950s silhouette with subtle waist shaping and a flattering square neckline. Knitted in Excelana DK this garment is perfect for every occasion. The garment is designed to be worn with between 1 to 3 inches of negative ease as shown in the photo. Instructions are provided to knit the jumper either in the round or in flat pieces to be sewn together. A three needle cast off is used at the shoulders to create a neat shoulder line. The flattering neckband is worked in one piece using a circular needle with double decreases worked at each corner to create a beautiful neckline. Garment shown in photograph is for the third size 86cm (34in) worn on a model with 86cm bust measurement and therefore with 2.5cm (1in) of negative ease at the bust. A form fitting all-over lace sweater, featuring a flattering square neckline and with a choice of elbow length or short sleeves. The lace pattern is much simpler than it may look with no shaping required other than at armholes and sleeve heads. Designed to be worn with 4-6 inches of negative ease to really show the lace pattern off to good effect. Knitted flat in separate pieces. Knitted in my own Excelana 4ply wool in the stunning autumnal shade of Damson Wine. Now available as a single pattern as well as part of the Stitch in Time volume 1 collection. Pattern completely rewritten and extended with both written and charted instructions included and additional sizes included.

This beautiful jumper features a Feather and Fan lace pattern with a Butterfly Lace stitch on the sleeves. The elegant stripe pattern on the body is worked in five colours of Excelana 4ply. The flattering key hole front opening is encircled by a sewn-on scarf to complete this 1930s style jumper. The body is knitted from the bottom up with front and back pieces knitted separately and then sewn together, with raglan shaping worked at armholes. The elbow length sleeves are knitted separately. The Jan Sweater
Jan is great for a knitter with basic skills. It is an excellent first sweater knit and also first lace knit. Stitches used, are rib and a simple lace eyelet pattern. It has minimal shaping and is knitted in four separate pieces. It is designed with some wearing ease to allow the body to ‘blouse’ slightly over the ribbed welt.

This garment features an interesting construction. The main body is knitted in 4 pieces, with main back and front worked from side to side. Side panels are worked vertically and fit from front round to back. The sleeves are knitted sideways and have a separate cuff. Finally, the collar is worked in 4 separate pieces.
