The Midas Touch

  • The The Midas Touch top pattern was originally published in 1946 and for is extremely stylish yet super-simple in equal measure. The top is knitted in two pieces with grown-on cap sleeves. A simple textured stitch is worked throughout to create an interesting surface texture. Sequins or beads can be sewn on for decoration after the top has been completed. This project is a great introduction to knitting garments on finer yarns.

The The Midas Touch is knitted using Susan Crawford Fenella, a 2 ply (vintage 3ply weight) yarn, worsted spun for a soft handle. Exquisite for Fair Isle projects as well as textured and lace stitches. Shown here in shade Jonquil.

Our model Fleur is shown wearing the first size to fit chest 76-81cm (30-32in).

The pattern includes instructions for seven sizes to fit chest measurements between 76cm (30in) and 127cm (50in) and contains clear written instructions plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.
