It Cannot Fail To Please
A form fitting all-over lace jumper, featuring a flattering square neckline and with a choice of elbow length or short sleeves. The lace pattern is much simpler than it may look as there is no shaping required other than at the armholes and sleeve heads. This is a reworking of an original 1930s pattern featured in Susan's book A Stitch in Time volume 1. Knitted in Excelana 4ply 100% british wool from Susan Crawford, which is the perfect yarn both for lace knitting and a garment requiring stretch and the ability to retain its shape. The sample shown is knitted in the stunning autumnal shade of Damson Wine.
This pattern features both written and charted instructions.
The pattern is also available in A Stitch in Time volume 1.

The garment is designed to be worn with up to 16cm (6in) of negative ease as the lace pattern needs to stretch over the body to be seen properly.
