One of our best selling patterns, Jan is a wonderfully simple design incorporating a simple lace pattern. A typical 1930s design the garment is designed to be worn with the ribbed welt sitting on the wearer's waist. Minimal shaping at the armholes and sleeve heads only make this a very simple knit. The straight neck can be left completely open as shown or partially sewn up at each end to create a smaller neck opening.
Knitted in Excelana 4ply 100% british wool from Susan Crawford in Powdered Egg colourway.
The pattern includes both written and charted instructions for the lace section.
The pattern can also be found in A Stitch in Time Vintage Knitting Patterns, Volume 2: 1930-1959.
