A Stitch In Time Volume 2 Revisited
The intriguing two-colour pattern on this stylish jumper from the 1960s is created using slip stitches meaning only one colour is only ever used on a row at any one time. The stitch can be knitted either of two ways depending on how you wish the jumper to look. The stitch pattern creates an extremely warm fabric perfect for colder autumn or winter days.
Hems and cuff facings are knitted as part of the jumper then folded back and sewn in place. The funnel neck line also includes a single colour facing providing warmth and stability to the neck line. Buttons added on one shoulder for ease of dressing. The three set-in pockets add an elegant finishing touch. The main sections of the garment are knitted separately and then sewn together.
Designed in Paris is knitted in Excelana 4 ply in Cornflower Blue and Alabaster colourways.
The pattern can also be found in A Stitch in Time Vintage Knitting Patterns, Volume 2: 1930-1959.
The pattern includes detailed written instructions and clear schematic and sizing information.
Our model is wearing the first size in the photographs with zero ease. For a more relaxed fit choose a size with dimensions at least 2 inches larger than the wearer's chest and hip measurements.
