It is a delicate garment with an all-over colour-work pattern originally created by Jeannie Jarmson of Shetland in the 1930s. The slightly loose fitting blouson style of the top is typical of this period. Jeannie is worked in the round from the bottom up with steeks added at the armholes and front neck to enable a seamless construction. The shoulders are then joined together using three-needle bind-off. The deep neckline is emphasised with unusual mitred corners at centre front which are then held in position with decorative buttons.

Jeannie is knitted using Perle Blend, a luxurious combination of fine cashmere and silk fibres with a stitch gauge of 46 sts to 10cm (4in). The resulting finished garment drapes beautifully, is soft against the skin and has a subtle sheen. Nine hand-dyed colours dyed in-house at Susan Crawford Vintage are used throughout the design and are available as a kit.

[bold:The pattern contains full colour charts and written instructions as well as clear schematic diagrams.:bold]

[bold:The pattern is currently available to fit a range of sizes from 30 to 48 inches (76-122cm).:bold]:tab1]
[tab2:
[bold:Yarn:bold]
Susan Crawford Perle Blend, 50% cashmere, 50% silk (750m / 820yds per 100g skein)

[bold:Gauges:bold]
46 sts and 46 rows = 10cm(4in) measured over stranded colourwork knitted in the round, after blocking.
