Bluem Sock - Hay Bale

About Bluem Sock
75% Bluefaced Leicester / 25% nylon
400 metres / 437 yards per 100g

Bluem Sock is spun at a local mill and hand-dyed by Susan and her team at A Room Of My Own in a wide range of beautiful and varied shades. Bluem Sock takes colour extremely well resulting in rich, semi-solid shades. Bluem Sock is a non-superwash yarn spun and should be washed by hand in cool water with a gentle wool wash.

Bluem sock is a Fingering weight yarn, worsted spun with a high twist making it perfect for socks. The Bluefaced Leicester yarn is a soft but resilient fibre and combined with a small amount of nylon, it creates the perfect fabric for socks. The yarn shows off texture, cables and lace to great effect and the fibre combination takes colour beautifully.

Bluem Sock is available in both 100g and 25g skeins.

About Hay Bale:

Each summer on farms the traditional ritual of hay making takes place. A meadow is set aside, ungrazed to allow the grass to grow long and dense. When the time is right and the weather grants the farmer a week of dry conditions the grass is cut then spread out on the ground, turned and dried, the long blades of grass changing from a vibrant green to a complex sun-faded yellow. Once dried these dried grasses, are gathered together into bales, the grass now called hay.

Care Instructions
Handwash in cool water using a gentle wool wash and dry flat.
Please note
As these yarns are hand-dyed please be aware that there will be subtle variation between dye lots. Because of this please be sure to purchase enough yarn for your project.
