  • About Gay Bolero:

A stylish and unusual jacket, originally from the 1940s, can be worn over summer dresses or teamed with jeans or trousers for winter wear. Knitting commences at centre front bottom edge and is constructed around a mitred centre point. The back is worked in striped ridges from the bottom up. The gathered sleeves create an elegant, tailored detail whilst allowing extra room in the sleeves for layers underneath. Designed to be worn open. Can be worn slightly oversized as shown in the photos as more of a jacket or closer-fitting as more of bolero.

Knitted in Excelana 4ply 100% British wool in Land Army Green and Saharan Sand colourways, and would look wonderful in many combinations such as Dark as Night and Alabaster for a nautical look, or Charcoal and Sheffield Steel for a monochromatic sophistication.

The model is shown wearing the 4th size with approximately 6 inches of positive ease. The pattern contains full written instructions and clear schematic diagrams.
