Feather Stitch Scarf

  • The Feather Stitch Scarf pattern features an all-over lace stitch alongside a striking stripe pattern. The two-row Feather Stitch lace pattern set on a simple rectangular scarf is a great introduction to knitting lace patterns, particularly as this pattern has both charted and written versions of the instructions.

This particular pattern is a mainstay of Shetland lace knitting and is easy to master and quick to knit. When combined with the striking stripe pattern, it creates a bold finished piece and a perfect partner to any vintage outfit and equally looks at home in a more modern wardrobe.

Or why not let your creativity loose and create your own stripe patterns to use up oddments of wool or to go with any outfit in your closet!

Feather Stitch Scarf is knitted using Susan Crawford Excelana North fingering weight a soft, fingering weight 100% British wool, spun for us in nearby Yorkshire and dyed in-house by Susan and her team. Shown here in shades Alabaster, Dark Mandarin, Land Army Green and Sweet Chestnut.

The pattern includes both clear written pattern directions, together with charted instructions for lace stitches plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.
