A single rare breed yarn bred and reared on the Lancashire moors. Since 2020 the Lonk breed has been added to the at risk list of sheep breeds by the Rare Breed Society, indicating that this magnificent sheep is in decline. Until the 1930s Lonk wool was highly prized and was used in the hosiery industry.
This sport weight, worsted spun retains all those desirable characteristics, a smooth, firm, crisp yarn that softens with use, with great definition, perfect for socks and shawls.
