About Barn:

This new artisanal yarn by Susan Crawford is a unique wool in a natural shade of grey. Featuring a blend of 3 British sheep breeds, the characteristics of local sheep from around Monkley Ghyll Farm are combined to create a delightfully lofty, grey yarn. Jacob fleece is blended with white Shetland, then a strand of black Shetland adds further depth. The result is a yarn which is extremely soft to handle, yet very warm and hard-wearing. Barn creates fabric with a beautiful texture, equally good in plain stitch patterns as well as textural patterns, cables and lace.

Monkley Ghyll Farm Yarns:

Since moving to Monkley Ghyll, Susan's goal has been to showcase the native sheep breeds living on the moors, fells and hills of Yorkshire, Cumbria and Lancashire, sourcing fibre from local farmers, as well as utilizing the fleeces from the sheep living at Monkley Ghyll Farm itself. Barn is the first in a range of yarns blended and spun to her specifications. A new generation of knitters and crocheters will enjoy these wools from the heart of the British countryside.
