Created for The Vintage Shetland Project this yarn is the perfect alternative to 'vintage' 3ply yarns of yesteryear. The 30 colours have all been dyed to recreate authentic period yarn colours from the 1930s to the 1950s.
A 2ply yarn, it is worsted spun for a soft handle, and works exquisitely for Fair Isle projects as well as textured and lace stitches, blocking and holding its shape beautifully.
129 metres/141 yards per 25g skein
Recommended gauge between 30 and 36 sts to 10cm (4in) but can be knitted on a wide variety of needle sizes for differing effects.
A reddish-pink that's hard to define - think stewed rhubarb in an old enamel dish. The colour suggests slightly faded, sun-bleached linens, still warm but soft. Used to knit Dahlia, a beautiful lightweight shawl.
