  • About Crowning Glory:

This elegant beret showcases a beautiful lace motif in the form of a crown, inspired by a similar motif originating in Shetland on a lace shawl, knit in the late 1800s and destined to be a gift for royalty. The beret is divided into four sections with a crown in the centre of each section. Knitted n the round from the brim upwards, the construction of Crowning Glory is very simple enabling the knitter to focus on the lace stitch within.

Knitted in Excelana 4 ply, a warm and soft pure wool with enough structure to be blocked into shape and to show off the lace pattern to great effect. The sample is knitted in the natural Alabaster colourway but would look fabulous in any of the 20 shades of Excelana available.

The pattern includes both written and charted instructions for the lace section.

Crowning Glory is also part of the Coronation Knits collection.
