Amies is an elegant, t-shirt style top knitted in an all-over lace pattern. The simple lace stitch is easy to remember and intuitive to knit with every other row purled. Amies is knitted in flat pieces which are then sewn together and has a flattering round neckline and set-in sleeves. The lace pattern itself creates the softly scalloped finish to both the lower edge of the sweater and the sleeves for an extra feminine touch.
The pattern includes instructions for 5 sizes to fit chest measurements 76 - 127cm (30 - 50in) and is designed to be worn with a small amount of negative ease. The pattern contains clear written instructions plus a chart for the lace pattern. A comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart are also included.
Amies is knitted using
Susan Crawford Fenella, a vintage 3 Ply weight wool, created to replicate the fine vintage yarns of this period. It is dyed in-house in a wide range of vintage shades and is shown here in Phthalo.
Choose from the colourway shown or alternatively choose the 'custom' option to select shades of your choice from any of the other beautiful hand-dyed colours of
Fenella then select which size kit you require. If you wish to order one of the Fenella shades which are not in the drop down menu, select the Custom Colourway option then simply email us with the shade you would like.
Kit Size One - To fit 76-81cm (30-32in) chest, PETITE, 1st pattern size : Your yarn kit includes: 8 25g skeins of Fenella in your chosen shade.
Kit Size Two- To fit 76-86cm (30-34in) chest, STANDARD, 2nd pattern size : Your yarn kit includes: 8 25g skeins of Fenella in your chosen shade.
Kit Size Three - To fit 91-97cm (36-38in) chest, 4th pattern size : Your yarn kit includes: 10 25g skeins of Fenella in your chosen shade.
Kit Size Four - To fit 102-112cm (40-44in) chest, 5th pattern size : Your yarn kit includes: 13 25g skeins of Fenella in your chosen shade.
Kit Size Five - To fit 117-127cm (46-50in) chest, 5th pattern size : Your yarn kit includes: 15 25g skeins of Fenella in your chosen shade.
