Frilly Jumper

  • This relaxed yet elegant knitting pattern originally from the 1930's is perfect for warmer days or can also be dressed up for evening wear. It features a simple diagonal lace stitch which creates a soft, airy fabric and a gently curving neckline. The grown-on sleeves and the neck are finished with a delightful frilled trim which is completed with the addition of a metallic edging in a contrasting shade. This extremely simple knit is knitted in just two main pieces which are then sewn together; and the unshaped body has instructions for two lengths - either a short or a long option, and can easily be adjusted for further customisation if needed.

Frilly Jumper is knitted using Susan Crawford Marilyn, a merino-silk laceweight blend with a subtle sheen and beautiful drape, in shade Claudette, hand-dyed in-house by Susan and her team.

Our model Fleur is shown wearing the second size to fit 86-92 cm (34-36 in) chest with longer length body.

The pattern includes instructions for six sizes to fit chest measurements between 76cm (30in) and 132cm (52in) and contains clear written instructions plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.
