Bluem Sock - Thistle Head

About Bluem Sock:

Bluem Sock is 75% British Bluefaced Leicester wool/25% nylon, spun at a local mill and hand-dyed by Susan here at Monkley Ghyll.

Bluem sock is a Fingering weight yarn, worsted spun with a high twist making it perfect for socks. The Bluefaced Leicester yarn is a soft but resilient fibre and combined with a small amount of nylon, it creates the perfect fabric for socks. The yarn shows off texture, cables and lace to great effect and the fibre combination takes colour beautifully.

All shades are limited edition and dyed by hand here at Monkley Ghyll in a range of shades inspired by the landscape on this hillside farm. There are 26 permanent shades plus an ever-changing selection of one-off colours.

About Thistle Head:

From mid-summer onwards thistles of all types grow boldly and rapidly, their stunning purple flowers standing head and shoulders above all other plants and grasses in the meadow. Thistle Head captures that moment of vibrancy before the flower dies and the  thistledown appears and the goldfinches swoop to feed off the thistle seed.
