Dorothy is an extremely elegant, boat necked, lace panelled sweater. The lace detail over the front and around the neckline delicately balances the three quarter length sleeves and relaxed fit of this garment. It looks equally good worn with a beautiful vintage dress as it does over a modern shirt, paired with jeans. It's a versatile piece that takes you across the seasons and from casual to smart.

This yarn bundle contains all the Susan Crawford Vintage 100% British Wool Fenella yarn you need to create the Dorothy from The Vintage Shetland Project. Also included is a Susan Crawford Vintage cotton project bag. Please note: the pattern is not included in this kit. The pattern is available in The Vintage Shetland Project book or as a downloadable PDF.

This garment can either be knitted in the round or in flat pieces which are then sewn together. Instructions are given for both versions. In both versions the lace yokes on front and back are knitted back and forth then the two sections are joined together, and the eyelet neck edging is worked in the round. Sleeves are picked up around the armhole and knitted downwards. The lace pattern is shown in chart form. The garment shown is the sixth size worn on a petite model with 25cm (10in) of positive ease. It is suggested that for a more standard fit you choose a size with approximately 10-12.5cm (4-5in) of positive ease.
