Grasmere Yarn Kit (Pre-Order)

Order your beautiful yarn kit now, for dispatch on Friday 7th March, containing our stunning Bluem fingering weight yarn, spun from 100% Bluefaced Leicester wool at a nearby Yorkshire mill and hand-dyed here at our Lake District studio.

Bluem fingering weight yarn is worsted spun and has an almost honey-like softness and a delightful, lustrous finish which highlights the gorgeous hand-dyed shades of De Nimes, Sward, Tawny and Narcissus.

Your kit contains all the yarn you need to knit the delightful Grasmere beanie which conjures up the image of a Lake District landscape in spring, with carpets of native daffodils turning their yellow glowing heads to the sun. The focus of the design, is indeed, daffodils dancing around the circumference of the hat, with stylised leaves creating a stunning decorative pattern. The crown of the hat, features a sun burst shining down on the glorious narcissi. A striped corrugated ribbed welt is the starting point before the stranded colourwork pattern commences. The pattern is worked using stranded colourwork technique throughout with no more than two colours in any one row and is shown on a full colour chart with all crown shaping included.

The hand dyed shades used to knit Grasmere reflect the colours of the Lake District landscape at Springtime - De Nimes, the soft blue of the Lake District waters reflecting the spring sky; Tawny, a gentle brown shade, suggesting tree branches shortly before they return to life, Sward - a vibrant green, representing the returning grasslands and of course, Narcissus, a true daffodil yellow. These beautiful shades are teamed with Fleece the natural creamy-white of the undyed Bluefaced Leicester yarn.

The Grasmere pattern includes four sizes but your kit provides you with all the yarn you need to knit any of the sizes in the pattern so no need to worry about which size kit to choose.

Choose from either an all-inclusive kit which includes your yarn, a high quality printed pattern, a SCV drawstring bag plus a PDF pattern; a yarn and PDF pattern bundle or yarn only option.

Option 2 (Yarn Plus PDF): 1 50g skein each of De Nimes and Narcissus, plus 1 25g skein each of Sward, Tawny and Fleece in Bluem Fingering weight, 100% Bluefaced Leicester, SCV drawstring bag and the Grasmere beanie PDF pattern.

Option 3 (Yarn only): 1 50g skein each of De Nimes and Narcissus, plus 1 25g skein each of Sward, Tawny and Fleece in Bluem Fingering weight, 100% Bluefaced Leicester plus an SCV drawstring bag.
