  • Marilyn 2ply Merino Silk Lace - Emerald

At Susan Crawford Vintage, we hand-dye all our yarns at our Lake District studio, using our unique, personally developed recipes, to create our beautiful colour palettes. Occasionally, the unexpected occurs resulting in truly unique creations we affectionately call "Happy Accidents."

These special skeins may be in colours that fall outside our usual palettes, or they might display captivating variations in tone or variegation. Each "Happy Accident" is one (or several)-of-a-kind, a testament to the unpredictable and beautiful nature of hand-dyeing.

These unique treasures are all significantly reduced compared to yarns in our colour palettes! Remember "Happy Accidents" are limited edition, and unrepeatable.

Please note: Due to the nature of these skeins, "Happy Accidents" are not eligible for return or refund.

Marilyn is a luxurious 2 Ply lace weight yarn for those special projects. The composition of the yarn is 55% Merino wool and 45% Silk. The combination of these two fibres create a fabulously soft fabric with a beautiful drape. It is particularly well-suited to shawls and evening wear and creates a stunning lace fabric.

Hand-dyed by Susan and her team Marilyn is a collection of sumptuous, jewel-like shades, complemented by the ivory sheen of the undyed fibre, with a colour palette inspired by classic films of the early Twentieth century.

Marilyn is available in 100gm skeins, with 800 metres (875 yards) per skein

About Emerald: This unique hand-dyed colourway, is a subtlety variegated shade of deep blue-green.
