Middy Jacket

A one-off knitted sample from A Stitch in Time Volume 2 knitted with Excelana 4 Ply, 100% British wool, in shades Persian Grey and Nile Green. This highly unusual jacket is knitted in garter stitch with the contrasting shaped front bands knitted at the same time as the main body. The bands cross each other at centre back neck for an elegant couture touch. The body is shaped to create the classic 1950s silhouette and is held together at the waist with a single vintage button.

The sample was knitted to fit 36-38 inch (86-92 cm) chest and has a finished chest dimension of 40 inches (101 cm) and a length to underarm of 14 inches (35.5 cm).
