The Heaton fingerless mittens pattern has been designed exclusively for retreat participants to learn all about stranded colourwork knitting.
Heaton is knitted using Susan Crawford Wold DK a plump, DK weight 100% British wool, spun for us in nearby Yorkshire and hand-dyed at our Lake District studio.
The sample shown is the gauntlet version.
The pattern includes both clear written pattern directions, together with charted instructions for the all-over colourwork pattern.

23 sts and 24 rows = 10cm (4in) measured over stranded colourwork in the round, after blocking. We obtained this gauge using 3.75mm needles.Suggested needles
