    • Jacket and Hood for Weekend Sports is a fun pattern originally published as a single-sized pattern in the 1940s.

The fun zip-up blouson jacket is knitted in an interesting all-over textured pattern which can either be worked mirrored on either side of the front zip or with the pattern running in the same directions on both sides as shown. Two horizontal zipped pockets are also added to the fronts of the jacket and a deep ribbed collar completes the jacket.

In the original vintage pattern, the patterning on the left front mirrored that on the right front, forming striking v-shapes. Our sample knitted in 2012 was knitted without this mirroring in the patterning, but we have provided instructions to match the original and also to match the sample if you prefer.

An extremely practical matching hood is also provided in the pattern to create the complete 1930s sporting look.

The ensemble is knitted in Barn a heavy DK weight yarn using the natural und-dyed grey base shade Dry Stone Wall or our new shade, Flax which will be available at the end of July 2024

Our model is shown wearing the 1st size to fit 81-87cm (30-32in) chest.

The pattern has eight size options included to fit from 30-60 inches (76-152cm).
