    • With lattice cables that criss-cross the body, resolving into a cabled yoke that travels over the shoulders, the Lady's Jumper Cardigan pattern is a textural marvel!

Lady’s Jumper-Cardigan is a gorgeous textured cardigan pattern dating from the 1930s era, designed to be worn to the waistline and can be worn as a jumper or as a cardigan. The unusual cable pattern creates a three dimensional effect. A slightly dropped armhole is disguised by the vertical cable placement and the sleeves are almost invisibly joined along this point. A truly stylish and clever design for the more experienced knitter.

This exquisite and unique cardigan is worked in pieces from the bottom up with an integrated button band. The yoke is worked from picked up stitches from the fronts and back; sleeves are worked separately and sewn in after the yoke is complete. The result is an almost sculptural cardigan, a beautiful garment to be worn as part of a period ensemble or paired with favourite trousers or a skirt for a more contemporary look.

Lady's Jumper-Cardigan is knitted using Excelana North fingering weight a soft, fingering weight 100% British wool, spun for us in nearby Yorkshire and dyed in-house by Susan and her team. Shown here in shade Persian Grey.

Our model Theo is shown wearing the first size 81-86cm (32-34in).

The pattern includes instructions for six sizes to fit chest measurements between 81cm (32in) and 142cm (56in) and contains clear written instructions plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.
