    • This useful little ‘wind cheater’, Scallop has been inspired by similar knitting patterns published from the 1940s through to the 1960s. Similar ‘bibs’ have become very popular again and it seemed an appropriate moment to celebrate these clever vintage accessories. Using only a skein of DK yarn the Scallop wind cheater provides a cosy extra layer against chill winds but is equally quick and easy to remove when its no longer needed. Choose a soft yarn for your Scallop. Scallop is knitted in the round throughout, with flat panels at front and back, and decreasing panels at the side neck and shoulders. This is a great introductory pattern for someone wanting to learn to knit in the round.

Scallop is knitted using Susan Crawford Bluem DK a warm but soft DK weight 100% British wool, spun for us in nearby Yorkshire and hand-dyed at our Lake District studio. Shown here in shade Shadow but looks fabulous in any of Bluem's stunning colours. Once you've knitted one you won't want to stop!

This is a one size pattern.

The pattern includes instructions to fit an average adult and contains clear written pattern directions, and a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.
