Floribunda Yarn Kit

This kit contains all the yarn you need to knit the beautiful Floribunda cardigan.

Floribunda is knitted with Barn, a DK weight yarn which is spun from 100% British wool at a nearby mill in Yorkshire. Barn is a blend of Jacob and Shetland fleeces creating a beautifully soft, airy, tonal, naturally grey yarn. This natural shade is called Dry Stone Wall and is the main colour for the Floribunda cardigan.

Floribunda is a wonderful addition to any wardrobe, with a stocking stitch body and sleeves, and featuring an elegant yoke pattern with striking stylised roses. Floribunda is knitted in DK weight yarn with a simple construction, making it a highly enjoyable, interesting and speedy knit.

Floribunda is worked in the round from the bottom up with a 'steek' worked at the centre front of the cardigan throughout, meaning every round is worked on the right side of the knitting - every round knit. An attractive twisted rib stitch is worked for the welt, cuffs and bands giving a real sharpness to these sections of the cardigan.

Once the lower body is completed, the sleeves are knit and then the three pieces are joined together and the upper body worked in one piece.

In addition this stunning yarn has been hand dyed in three rich shades to create the hues needed for the rose motifs on the cardigan yoke.

Rosehip is a strong, vibrant red; Cottage Rose a deep, bold pink; and Folius a rich leaf green. These shades layered over the varying natural greys of Barn, create intense colours with depth and interest. These stunning hand dyed yarns have been hand dyed by Susan and her team. They have then been spun into 10g skeins to provide each kit with the correct amount of yarn.
