TThe A Knitted Waistcoat pattern was first published in 1947 and is an extremely useful garment knitted in a broken rib pattern. It is designed to be worn with negative ease and to fit close to the body. A nipped in waist is followed by increases at side seams until required chest stitch count is reached. If a less shaped fit is preferred, cast-on the chest stitch count and work straight to the underarm. The waistcoat is worked in separate flat pieces which are then sewn together.
A Knitted Waistcoat is knitted using Susan Crawford Excelana North, fingering weight a soft, fingering weight 100% British wool, spun for us in nearby Yorkshire. Knitted in shade Land Army Green which is dyed in-house by Susan and her team.

The kits are available in six sizes to fit from 30-52in chest as follows:
Kit Size One:To fit sizes 76 to 82cm (30-32in) includes 4 X 50g skeins of hand-dyed Excelana North fingering weight in colour of your choice.
Kit Size Two:To fit sizes 86-92cm (34-36in) includes 5 X 50g skeins of hand-dyed Excelana North fingering weight in colour of your choice.
Kit Size Three:To fit sizes 96-102cm (38-40in) includes 6 X 50g skeins of hand-dyed Excelana North fingering weight in colour of your choice.
Kit Size Four:To fit sizes 107-112cm (42-44in) includes 7 X 50g skeins of hand-dyed Excelana North fingering weight in colour of your choice.
Kit Size Five:To fit sizes 117-122cm (46-48in) includes 8 X 50g skeins of hand-dyed Excelana North fingering weight in colour of your choice.
Kit Size Six:To fit sizes 127-132cm (50-52in) includes 9 X 50g skeins of hand-dyed Excelana North fingering weight in colour of your choice.
