This kit contains all the yarn you need to create the fabulous Fair Isle sleeveless pullover, Munro, an early twentieth century sleeveless pullover from the Shetland Museum Archives, recreated by Susan for The Vintage Shetland Project. This stylish v-neck vest is knitted using Excelana North a beautiful new blend of Excelana using wools from Northern England and the Scottish Borders and spun at a nearby Yorkshire mill, launched to celebrate our 10 years of supporting British wool here at SCV. This fingering (4 ply) weight yarn is soft to the touch but with just the right amount of stickiness for colourwork projects.
The kit contains five hand-dyed shades of Excelana; Limestone, Charcoal, Dark Mandarin, Sweet Chestnut and Powdered Egg, all hand dyed by Susan and her team. Please remember to purchase your PDF pattern separately if you don't have a copy of The Vintage Shetland Project.
The kits are available in seven sizes to fit from 30-56in (76-142cm) chest as follows:
1st size to fit 76-81cm (30-32in) chest: 3 x 50g skeins of Limestone, 2 x 50g skeins of Charcoal, and one 50g skein each of Dark Mandarin, Sweet Chestnut and Powdered Egg.
2ndsize to fit 86-91cm (34-36in) chest: 4 x 50g skeins of Limestone, 2 x 50g skeins of Charcoal, and one 50g skein each of Dark Mandarin, Sweet Chestnut and Powdered Egg.
3rdsize to fit 96-102cm (38-40in) chest: 5 x 50g skeins of Limestone, 3 x 50g skeins of Charcoal, and one 50g skein each of Dark Mandarin, Sweet Chestnut and Powdered Egg.
4thsize to fit 107-112cm (42-44in) chest: 6 x 50g skeins of Limestone, 3 x 50g skeins of Charcoal, and one 50g skein each of Dark Mandarin, Sweet Chestnut and Powdered Egg.
5thsize to fit 117-122cm (46-48in) chest: 6 x 50g skeins of Limestone, 4 x 50g skeins of Charcoal, 2 x 50g skeins of Sweet Chestnut and one 50g skein each of Dark Mandarin and Powdered Egg.
6thsize to fit 127-132cm (50-52in) chest: 7 x 50g skeins of Limestone, 4 x 50g skeins of Charcoal, 2 x 50g skeins of Sweet Chestnut and one 50g skein each of Dark Mandarin and Powdered Egg.
7thsize to fit 137-142cm (54-56in) chest: 8 x 50g skeins of Limestone, 6 x 50g skeins of Charcoal, 2 x 50g skeins of Sweet Chestnut and one 50g skein each of Dark Mandarin and Powdered Egg.
