A Stitch In Time Volume 3 - The Colourwork Edition

    • This pattern is currently only available as part of A Stitch In Time Volume 3 - The Colourwork Edition, which can be ordered by following the link above

Marina is a delightful colourwork accessory set first published as a single sized pattern in the 1940s. The set includes a fabulous beret with matching gloves and scarf. A striking colourwork border is worked on the lower section of the beret, the scarf edges and the glove cuffs, followed by a simple repeating lice-style pattern with Limestone as the background and Swimming Pool and Dark as Night used alternately, to create a rich fabric.

The beret is knitted in the round from the brim upwards and uses changing needle sizes to create the quintessential beret shape; the scarf is knitted in the round as a tube and the gloves are also knitted in the round on a tighter gauge than the beret and scarf.

Both the beret and gloves have several sizing options to achieve a great fit.

Marina is knitted using Susan Crawford Excelana North fingering weight a soft, fingering weight 100% British wool, spun for us in nearby Yorkshire and dyed in-house by Susan and her team; and is shown here using shades;   Dark As Night and Swimming Pool.

Our model is shown wearing the 1st size scarf, 3rd size beret and 2nd size gloves.

The pattern contains clear written pattern directions, together with charted instructions.
