Beyond the Lakes
with Susan Crawford
We invite you to join us on exciting new knitting retreats in different locations around the UK and beyond. These knitting retreats are hosted as always by Susan and daughter, Charlie, and to the same high standard as our Lake District retreats.
Susan is your host for your stay with each retreat including a full day knitting workshop with Susan along with other activities and talks.
Good food is a huge part of all of our retreats and we carefully select venues which share our passion for excellent home cooked food using fresh, local ingredients. As always, allergies and dietary requirements are catered for wherever possible.

Exploring the Bloomsbury Legacy through the Knitted Stitch
Join us this summer for a truly special retreat in collaboration with Woodfire Camping, the first 'gastro-campsite' of its kind. Nestled in the beautiful Sussex countryside on the Firle Estate, Woodfire is just a short walk from Charleston Farmhouse, now a world-class cultural centre and once home to the Bloomsbury Set including Vanessa Bell, sister of Virginia Woolf, whose own home, Monk's House is also nearby. This retreat brings together creativity, literature, great food and nature for a truly unforgettable experience.
From Monday to Friday, immerse yourself in knitting and creativity, enjoying gourmet food, cooked over fire whilst camping under the stars.
Join us for for four fabulous nights at our stunning Lake District retreat in the heart of the Lake District countryside, hosted by Susan and daughter, Charlie. Our retreats are set in the village of Grasmere, in our private, quintessential, Cumbrian stone lodge. Situated seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but in fact only a short walk away from civilisation, Thorney How is the perfect location to sit back and relax in its tranquil location, nestled between the lakeland fells or to head out for a hike and be inspired by the incredible autumn colours of the rugged Lake District landscape, or wander into the village for a delightful afternoon tea or real ale at the local pub.
