This kit contains all the yarn you need to knit the stylish Annemor jacket, an easy-to-wear, open front jacket with a relaxed, slightly boxy fit, knitted in fingering weight yarn. Annemor was inspired by the interweaving of Shetland and Norwegian knitting cultures as first revealed to me by Annemor Sundbo, a subject I then explored further in The Vintage Shetland Project. I have chosen a striking colour palette of three shades of one colour plus a contrasting neutral shade for maximum impact.
Annemor is knitted using Excelana North a beautiful new blend of Excelana using wools from Northern England and the Scottish Borders and spun at a nearby Yorkshire mill, launched to celebrate our 10 years of supporting British wool here at SCV. This fingering (4 ply) weight yarn is soft to the touch but with just the right amount of stickiness for colourwork projects.
The kit uses four hand-dyed shades of Excelana; Limestone, and three greys - from Sheffield Steel a pale icy grey, to Persian Grey, a warm mid grey and Charcoal a deep, rich, almost black shade, all hand dyed by Susan and her team.
The kits are available in twelve sizes to fit from 28-66in (71-167cm) chest as follows:
1st size to fit 71-76cm (28-30in) chest: 6 x 50g skeins of Charcoal plus appropriate number of skeins for size of Limestone, Persian Grey and Sheffield Steel
2nd size to fit 81cm (32in) chest: 7 x 50g skeins of Charcoal plus appropriate number of skeins for size of Limestone, Persian Grey and Sheffield Steel
3rd size to fit 86-91cm (34-36in) chest: 7 x 50g skeins of Charcoal plus appropriate number of skeins for size of Limestone, Persian Grey and Sheffield Steel
4th size to fit 97cm (38in) chest: 8 x 50g skeins of Charcoal plus appropriate number of skeins for size of Limestone, Persian Grey and Sheffield Steel
