Perfect Christmas Jumper

The original sample garment of this iconic Christmas sweater, knitted for Vintage Gifts To Knit, using fingering weight merino wool in a background of bold red with true white motifs and reindeer worked across the front of the sweater and on the sleeve heads.

This sweater has all the classic hallmarks of a sweater from the 1940s with a shaped body designed to sit on the waist supported by a deep rib band measuring 3.25 inches (8cm), a neat round neck with back neck opening closed with four vintage buttons and dramatic box-head sleeves.

Truly the perfect Christmas sweater!

The sample was knitted in the second size to fit 32-36 inch (81-92cm) chest and has a finished chest dimension of  37.5 inches (94 cm) and a length to the underarm from the cast on edge of 12 inches (30 cm).
