• The pattern for Such Flattering Puff Sleeves was first published in the late 1930s and is a truly iconic sweater for this period; featuring dramatic puff sleeves and a square neckline and knitted in a simple all over ribbed pattern. This top is designed to be worn with negative ease and to stretch over the wearer's body. It is knitted if separate flat pieces which are then sewn together. The puff sleeves have multiple increases worked to create their full shape and are then gathered into the armhole for maxiumum impact. This is a great beginner's pattern for a knitter looking to knit their first vintage style garment.

  Such Flattering Puff Sleeves is knitted using Susan Crawford Wold 2 Ply Fingering Weight, a unique blend of the wool of three British sheep breeds known for their beautiful fleeces, Southdown, Bluefaced Leicester and Shetland, creating a fabulously soft yarn with bounce and spring. It is shown here in serveral shades; Fence Post, Swimming Pool and Cornflower.

  Our models Theodora and Fleur are shown wearing the following sizes: The brown and green garments are the first size to fit chest 76-81cm (30032in) and the blue garment is for second size to fit chest 86-91cm (34-36in). This garment is designed with negative ease to ensure a close fit.

  The pattern includes instructions for seven sizes to fit chest measurements between 76cm (30in) and 142cm (56in) and contains clear written instructions plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.
