Cloud Busting is the perfect vintage cardigan with a V-neck front, a deep ribbed welt and long sleeves with ribbed cuffs. The repeating all-over pattern is easy to remember and now in a fingering weight yarn, knits up surprisingly quickly.
Susan has created an updated, multi-sized pattern for A Stitch In Time Volume 3 featuring a wide range of sizing options including 3 lengths, two fits and provides instructions for knitting the cardigan both flat and in the round. You can now purchase a limited edition hand-dyed yarn kit to create your own beautiful Cloud Busting using Excelana North fingering weight yarn, 100% British wool, using wool from Northern England and the Scottish Borders and spun at a nearby Yorkshire mill. This fingering weight (4 Ply) yarn is soft to the touch but with just the right amount of stickiness for colourwork projects.
The kit includes four hand-dyed shades of Excelana: Limestone, a slightly variegated oatmeal shade; Plum Jam, a warm fuschia shade: Dark as Night, a rich navy blue and Muscovy Duck, a vibrant teal shade; plus undyed Alabaster, the natural cream of Excelana North. These shades have been chosen by Susan to produce a similar palette to that of the original vintage pattern. If you would prefer to choose your own colourway, simply let us know in the order comments which shades of Excelana you would like instead. You can see all the Excelana shades here.
