  • From Waste to Wool Art: Create Sustainable Needle-Felted Hoops

    Monday 26th May, 10.30 – 3.30

Join us for a full-day immersive workshop in collaboration with LoveArt Workshops, where we’ll transform 100% British wool remnants from our dye studio and yarn production into two beautiful wool-felted hoops.

Guided by Lana from LoveArt Workshops, you’ll learn simple but effective needle-felting techniques to build texture and form, crafting original pieces of textile art to display at home or gift to someone special. No prior experience needed, just your creativity and enthusiasm!

    What To Expect:
Morning Session – Introduction & First Hoop
    • Learn the fundamentals of needle-felting, including sculptural fibre techniques and layering methods.
    • Using a carefully curated wool buffet, create your first hoop artwork with a focus on organic shaping and a painterly approach to colour blending.
    • Gain confidence in working with textures, depth, and shading to bring your design to life.

Lunch Break – Bring your own lunch or explore one of the many cafés in Staveley.

Afternoon Session – Second Hoop & Advanced Techniques
    • Experiment further with your newly learned skills by creating a second hoop, refining your techniques or trying a pictorial design.
    • Discover how to incorporate more intricate details, layering effects, and personal storytelling into your piece.
    • Receive one-on-one guidance and feedback to help bring out your creativity.
