    Sunday 27th April, 10.30 – 3.30

     

    Learn the basics of Stranded Colourwork – also known as Fair Isle – with Susan Crawford. Susan will introduce you to the methods she uses to create her stunning colourwork knits.

    This full day class is suitable for intermediate knitters upwards with no colourwork knitting experience or those wanting to improve their skills. Knitting from Susan’s Lingholm pattern you will learn all the basic stranded colourwork skills.

    This highly instructional class will show you:
    How to knit with two colours on one row and how to hold your yarn
    How to work in the round on circular needles
    How to read a chart
    How to carry floats and weave colours in at the back of your work
    How to darn in ends

    Materials Included:

    Excelana North DK weight hand-dyed yarn in a range of colours, enough to complete your cowl; The Lingholm pattern; A handout will also be provided covering the techniques included in the class.

    You will also need to bring with you; 1 x 3.75 mm circular needle, 40cm in length or 100cm in length if working magic loop and a selection of stitch markers. A pen or pencil for making notes.

    Price includes materials as listed above plus refreshments on arrival. Lunch is not included. The class takes place in our classroom at the Assa Marra Wool Studio. Disabled access is available to the classroom via a lift. Please let us know if you would like us to arrange access using the lift. There is a maximum of 8 students per class. This class is for adults only.

    Payment in full is required when booking your place on the class.

    Cancellation Policy

    If you have to cancel, please note that refunds cannot be given unless we are able to fill the place with another student. In these instances a refund will be given minus a 10% admin fee. Any cancellations within seven days of a class taking place are non-refundable.

    We reserve the right to cancel a class if necessary. We will of course, try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given.

    We require a minimum of four participants for the class to go ahead.

    We cannot be financially responsible for extreme weather conditions or any other situations that are out of our control including cancellation of public transport.

    Please note that a parking charge is payable to park in the Mill Yard. This is beyond our control and you are responsible for ensuring the correct parking charge is paid on arrival. Any fines arising from non-payment or under-payment of parking charges are your own responsibility. Limited free parking is available in Staveley village.
