Majestic, as its name declares, is a truly magnificent example of a 1940s colourwork sweater. A vibrant all-over colourwork pattern is paired with a neat, fitted shape, puffed sleeves and a rounded neckline for the perfect vintage silhouette. This classic crew neck sweater was first published in the 1940s. It features an eye-catching all-over recurring colourwork motif of mirrored hearts set between a striped diamond motif. The colours used repeat throughout the sweater to create an appealing regularity to the design.
The pattern includes instructions for 10 sizes to fit chest measurements 71 - 152cm (28 - 60in) and is designed to be worn with a small amount of positive ease. The pattern contains clear written instructions plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart, together with clear charted instructions for the colourwork areas.
Majestic is knitted using
Susan Crawford Fenella, a vintage 3 Ply weight wool, created to replicate the fine vintage yarns of this period. It is dyed in-house by Susan's daughter, Charlie (also our stylish model for Majestic), in a wide range of vintage shades.
