Rosa Yarn Kit

This kit contains all the yarn you need to knit the beautiful Rosa sweater.

Rosa is knitted with Barn, a DK weight yarn which is spun from 100% British wool at a nearby mill in Yorkshire. Barn is a blend of Jacob and Shetland fleeces creating a beautifully soft, airy, tonal, naturally grey yarn. This natural shade is called Dry Stone Wall and is the main colour for the Rosa sweater.

Rosa is worked in the round from the bottom up meaning every round is worked on the right side of the knitting - every round knit. An attractive twisted rib stitch is worked for the welt, cuffs and bands giving a real sharpness to these sections of the sweater.

Once the lower body is completed, the sleeves are knit and then the three pieces are joined together and the upper body worked in one piece. Short rows are worked to ensure the front neckline sits lower than the front. The stunning yoke featuring the beautiful rose motif is then worked. The neckband sits neatly but comfortably around the neck with no danger of it either falling off the shoulders or restricting the wearer.

The stunning grey yarn has been hand dyed in three rich shades to create the hues needed for the rose motifs on the decorative yoke.

Rosehip is a strong, vibrant red; Rosa a faded pink; and Frond a light green. These shades layered over the varying natural greys of Barn, create intense colours with depth and interest. These stunning hand dyed yarns have been hand dyed by Susan and her team. They have then been spun into 10g skeins to provide each kit with the correct amount of yarn.
