    SPENCER YARN KITS USING OUR BEAUTIFUL HAND-DYED BYRE FINGERING WEIGHT, 100% BRITISH WOOL ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO ORDER. Please note, this kit does not include the Spencer pattern. The pattern is only available by purchasing my new book, Echoes, which you can do by clicking on the link above. Your kit will be sent at the same time as your book.

    Spencer is a stylish sweater knitted in fingering-weight yarn, making it perfect for everyday wear. The front panel as well as cuff and shoulder details are created using smocking stitch. The sweater is knitted in the round from the bottom up to the armhole, after which the front and back are worked separately. It is inspired by Lady Diana Spencer and her feminine and romantic style that owed much to the work of designer Laura Ashley. The sweater is influenced both by Ashley's love of smocking, and also early images of Diana, dressed casually in a floral skirt or capri pants, paired with a softly shaped sweater.

    Spencer is knitted using Susan Crawford Byre, a fingering weight yarn that is delightfully lofty and soft, created from a blend of Jacobs and Shetland fibres spun exclusively for us in a nearby Yorkshire mill.

    Spencer is shown here in two colour ways.

    Colourway One: Room Of My Own a warm red.

    Colourway Two: Ragwort a a golden mustard inspired by the vibrant if deadly flowers of the Ragwort plant.

    Choose from either of the two colourways shown or alternatively choose the 'custom' option to select a shade of your choice from the beautiful range of colours in Byre.

    The kits are available in four sizes to fit from 28-62 inch chest:

    Kit Size One: To fit 1st, 2nd and 3rd sizes (71-97cm 28-38in) and includes 3 X 100g skeins of hand-dyed Byre in colour of your choice.

    Kit Size Two: To fit 4th, 5th and 6th sizes (102-127cm / 40-50in) and includes 4 X 100g skeins of hand-dyed Byre in colour of your choice.

    Kit Size Three: To fit 7th and 8th sizes (132-147cm / 52-58in) and includes 5 X 100g skeins of hand-dyed Byre in colour of your choice.

    Kit Size Four: To fit 9th size (152-157cm / 60-62in) and includes 6 X 100g skeins of hand-dyed Byre in colour of your choice.
