The Agatha mitts are inspired by Agatha Christie's books - especially the amateur sleuth and knitter Miss Marple. These fingerless mitts are knitted from the cuff in the round, using a lovely repeating colourwork motif. Thumb stitches are placed on waste yarn whilst the upper hand section is worked. Finally, the thumb is knitted to finish.

Agatha is knitted using Susan Crawford Bluem Sock, a fingering weight yarn, worsted spun with a high twist. The Bluefaced Leicester yarn is a soft but resilient fibre and combined with a small amount of nylon, it creates the perfect fabric for socks or for hard wearing mittens.

You can now purchase our hand-dyed yarn kit to create your own pair of Agatha using four 25gm mini-skeins of BLUEM SOCK, one of each of four shades.

Agatha is shown here knitted using shades Hay Bale, Lime Mortar, Canopy and Herb Garden.
